Gen 4 Ch 1

Random Rolls for Generation 4: Rocky
2 parent family
1 child
Main career: Athletics
Secondary Career: Freelance Science
Goal: Party to Remember
Just for Fun: Runs in the Family (Random family trait for Rocky and Ruby is Insane)

The first thing Rocky's coaches did was to send him to China for extended training in the martial arts. They claimed it would make his talent shine even more. He hardly had time to digest the news that Ruby had run off with her boyfriend Luis, when he found himself at the Academy in Shang Sim-La.

He found the uniforms to be extremely uncomfortable, and preferred to work out in his swim trunks.

He found a sparring partner...

...but the lesson ended abruptly when he began to regale her with his latest conspiracy theory.

So he wandered over to the market district, and soon found himself fascinated by Simi, one of the local merchants. She seemed just as interested in him as he was in her.

He found himself drawn to her shop whenever he had a few spare hours, and by the end of his visit, he had even dared to kiss her.

He almost didn't want to leave, but she promised to come and visit.

He arrived back home late at night, and went in to greet his dad. Much to his surprise, Jasper was not alone!
"Ermm.. Welcome back, son. I, errr.. was hoping  to find a better time to tell you this, but.. Jada and I have decided to get married. I'll be moving in with her soon."
And so Rocky found himself alone in the family home.

Rather than spend his spare time alone in an empty house, Rocky took to hanging out at the park in his spare time. Ruby was often there as well, and one day shortly after his return from China, she had an announcement.
"I broke up with Luis! I've moved out on my own!"

"I'm quite sure he is an alien... or maybe a Chinese spy... saayyyy... "

"Weren't you just in China! Are you working with him? Are you trying to make me spill state secrets?"

It was so easy for Rocky to get caught up in her conspiracies. The logical side of him tried to resist, but soon she had him convinced that Luis just had to be a spy... or maybe an alien.

But all that was forgotten for a little while, when Simi arrived for her visit. Their first night together was amazing, and Rocky was already making plans in his head on how to obtain a permanent visa for her.

But things started to fall apart the next morning, when he remembered his conversations with Ruby.

Needless to say, Simi didn't appreciate being accused of spying... or being an alien... and decided to head back to China early.

And after that, there was the fan who followed him home from the stadium one day. Rocky thought she was pretty hot, and she  was obviously enjoying flirting with him...

So he thought he'd up the ante. "I've never made out with an alien before.. so you wanna make out... Alien?"

"Um, excuse me, where's the door? I'm outa here...."
It seemed destined that Rocky would scare off every girl who was the least bit interested in him.

Until, one day as he was leaving the stadium after a hard-fought game, he noticed a familiar-looking girl just outside the entrance. And she was pulling at her hair, shrieking, and generally having what could mildly be called a major melt-down.

"Excuse me, miss? Are you alright?"
She smiled up at him, a little dazedly.
"Oh, its you! Um... yes.. I'm fine. Sorry about that, sometimes I tend to just go off like that. Don't you remember me? Dayna, from your birthday party?"
"Sure, sure! Do you need a ride or anything?"
"I'd rather go back to your place, if you don't mind." Her voice dropped to a whisper. "Don't look now, but I think that guy is following me!"

Rocky thought she had to be the most beautiful girl in the world. And he didn't even have to tell her about the spies. She already knew! She hadn't heard about the aliens, though. Gradually the conversation turned more to flirting than conspiracy theories, and one thing led to another...

"I really don't wanna go home tonight Rocky. Can I stay?" She whispered irresistibly in his ear.

Later in the night he awoke to find her deeply absorbed in her laptop.
"Dayna?" He called out sleepily. "Whatcha doing? Come back to bed?"
Dayna made a shushing sound."Shhh... I'm hacking into the spy network. Trying to disrupt their funding! Then I can use their own funds for... um... other things."

She suddenly hopped up from the computer and kissed him passionately.
"Go back to bed, love, I'll be there in a jiffy."
He obeyed in a daze. She had called him "love"! The next day he helped her pack her things and move in, and thought he couldn't be happier.

He thought wrong, though. A few months after Dayna moved in, she started spending almost as much time in the bathroom as she did on that laptop of hers.

He was thrilled to discover he was going to be a daddy!

Gen 3 Ch 4

As the twins moved on into high school, Rocky became known as the school genius, and Ruby often came to him for help with her homework.

However, they both also gained quite the reputation for for their increasingly odd behavior.

Jasper would often return from work to find them hatching wild conspiracy theories while hanging out in the backyard. He hated to do it, but he decided they needed more discipline in their lives than he could give them. So he enrolled them both at the military academy.....

...and signed them up for the after-school sports program at the stadium. Rocky especially excelled at football. He loved the game, and soon became one of the star pee-wee players. His teammates didn't seem to mind his sometimes strange behavior, as long as he could kick the ball with such accuracy.

Ruby also did well in the sports program, but it was definitely not her forte. She often would sneak out of the house late at night to discuss things with the garden statues....

... or to meet up with her boyfriend, Luis Greenwood. Since seeing them together at their birthday party, Jasper had found out that Luis was one of the town "bad boys", and had forbidden Ruby to see him.

But that didn't stop her from doing exactly what she wanted anyway.

Sometimes they would make out in they backyard till the wee hours of the morning, after Jasper and Rocky were fast asleep.

"Grrrr... dad is sure cramping my style! I can't wait to leave this place!"

Only one other incident of note happened during their teenage years. Rocky, buoyed by his success at school and on the athletic field, decided that he was perfectly capable of fixing the broken washing machine. But he forgot to unplug it first, and an electrical fire broke out! Jasper was still at work, and Rocky and Ruby both panicked as the fire started to spread.

Jasper arrived home just in time to extinguish the fire, and Rocky received a stern lecture on mixing electrical appliances and water.
"You are lucky you were only singed!"

Then it was birthday time again. As Rocky stepped up to blow out his candles, he wondered who that gorgeous girl was standing behind him, cheering him on. He had never seen her before.

Rocky could hardly wait to start his new job at the stadium. The  coaches had been so impressed with his high school stats, they had drafted him to play for the local team.

Then came Ruby's turn.

Just as she blew out her candles, who should show up but her forbidden boyfriend. She strolled right up to him, and planted a coy little kiss on his face.

"Listen to me, Ruby, this boy is not worthy of you!"
"I'm all grown up, you can't stop me now! Come on, Luis, let's split this place!"

But Rocky barely heard all the commotion.
"Hi, I'm Dayna Tex. My Uncle Walter invited me to come to your party with him. I hope that's okay."
Rocky was so flustered all he could do was stare in awe.

Gen 3 Ch 3

True to her word, Jada called Jasper soon after the twins birthday, and they headed to the Bistro for dinner. It was a beautiful evening, and Jasper decided Jada had been right - he did need to get out more, now that the twins were in school.

Jada smiled so beautifully at him he was almost overwhelmed.
"We should do this again sometime," he smiled back.
"Yes, we should."

Jasper was still determined that his children excel in everything. To that end he set out a schedule for them. First thing after school was homework time.

After that came block table time....

Then chess lessons...

....and painting lessons.

And finally, baking lessons on the weekends.

Everything seemed to be going well for a while, but Jasper started to worry when he came upon Ruby talking to herself out in the yard.
"Oh, it's nothing dad, I was just pretending."

But things really came to a head one when Jasper was at work, and Amber was watching the twins. The grim reaper chose that moment to come for Amber. Amber was ready to go, having achieved all her life time goals. She was known in town as the "Renaissance Woman" for her work in sculpture, painting and charisma, as well as her decorating prowess. but the sight of Amber leaving with the grim reaper so traumatized the twins, they never quite recovered.

They tried to comfort each other as they waited alone at home for Jasper to return from work.

But after that day, they became obsessed with ghost stories. Every day it seemed they had a new tale to tell Jasper.
"I saw mom today. She was reading on the couch. "

"Mom woke me up today, daddy. She was in my room!"

"You know, Jasp, have you considered moving Chiquita's grave to the graveyard? Having that constant reminder in your backyard may be having an effect on Rocky and Ruby."
Jada was such a good friend. Jasper didn't know what he would do without her anymore. but he wasn't ready yet to take that next step.
"I'll think about it..."

"Just remember, I'll always be here for you, Jasp."
He was grateful for her unconditional support, but he couldn't bring himself to do what he knew he should - move past Chiquita, and finally put her to rest.

Until one day as he was about to climb into bed - was that... was he seeing things?  Chiquita woke suddenly, and wisped away. But as she disappeared, he thought he heard a breathless whisper..
"... the basement... behind the crates...."

He tried to ignore the ghostly whisper, but finally he could stand it no longer, and spent an afternoon moving crates around in the basement. Suddenly he saw it - the missing smoke alarm? What was it doing here? His police training kicked in instantly, and he carefully placed it in a evidence bag, and delivered it to the station.

"I did it, Jada, I finally did it. Jeffry's prints were all over that alarm. He'll be going away for a long long time. I think it's time to really put 'Quita to rest. Will you help me move her stone to the graveyard?"
"Of course I will."

In no time it seemed, they twins birthdays rolled around again.  They had a small party - each twin invited one friend from school.

Rocky was first - he was growing up to look a lot like his dad.

Then it was Ruby's turn.

It seems she has inherited her mother's flirtyness, as well as her looks....

"Hey there, handsome!"
