"Ugh... gotta drag myself to work again today."
Opal downed a second cup of coffee, and still barely awake, stumbled out the door. The last thing she wanted to do was disappoint her celebrity clients, but she didn't know how much longer she could keep this up.

She left work early again, after finishing her most important jobs, and barely made it into her nightie before collapsing on the bed.

"Sweetie, don't you think you should see the doctor again?"
"I went today mom. You were right, I'm pregnant. She wants me to take some time off work. I hate to do it, but I just can't go on like this any more."

As her pregnancy progressed, Opal started to feel a little better, but still found herself dozing in front of the TV more often than not, while Jett kept her company with his book.

He insisted on cooking for her - his own special vegetarian recipes. She usually didn't like vegetarian, but she craved it now, as most regular food still made her nauseous.

Jett still had his evening concerts, and it was while he was performing one night, that Grim came for Dayna. Opal and Peri were distraught at losing her.

Opal tried to be strong for Peri, but as she reached to comfort him, the room began to spin around her.

"Peri, help!"
"Mom! What's wrong?"

Peri reached out to catch her, but it was too late. She fell to the floor in a complete faint.

Peri kept his head, and called his dad, and the doctor. Jett left in the middle of a set to rush home, worry creasing his face.

The doctor proclaimed the incident as due to pure stress, and put Opal on complete bed rest for the rest of her pregnancy.
"We don't want anything to happen to those babies, now, do we?"
"Babies?" Opal was still a little groggy.
"Why, yes, dear," the doctor continued. "It looks like you are having twins!"

Opal was so tired of her bedroom that by the end of her pregnancy she would occasionally sneak downstairs to relax in front of the TV.
"Jett! It's time!"

All the tribulation of the last months was so worthwhile, when Opal and Jett finally brought home their two little daughters, Jade and Emerald.

Peri proved himself a huge help, and Opal wanted to get him something special for being such a good kid.

"Wow, mom! You know I've wanted one of these since I was a little kid.  I even know how to tune the exhaust."
"Just be careful, and wear your helmet."
'I will. Thanks again! I'm off to the Esplanade to meet Lauren!"

"Hi Lauren," Peri smiled shyly.

*first kiss*

Even his new bike and his new girlfriend couldn't keep Peri away from his little sisters.
"Hey there Emmie! How are you today?"
"Pewi! Tickew! Hehehe"

They both adored Peri.
Emerald had Opal's hair, and Jade inherited Dayna's blond locks. It was amazing to Opal that her great-great grandfather Sinbad's hair was still so dominate.

The one problem they had was the little toy car. As they grew, there were constant battles over who would get to play with it.
"My caw!"
"NO! Mine!"

There was nothing to do but buy another car.
"I wuv dis caw."
"I wuv mine more!"

When it was time for Opal to return to work, she and Jett worked out a plan. He would watch the girls during the day while Opal was at work. She would start back part time, and come home the middle of the afternoon, about the time Peri got home from school. They would spend some family time together, then Jett would head off to his gig.

So far the plan was working well. Opal was happy to be back on the job. She wasn't sure why her clients did that weird butt-pointing thing when they liked her work, but she wasn't about to complain.

Many days when she arrived home, Peri was already home, and Lauren with him. She didn't mind them kissing on the couch, as he was a good boy, and she trusted him not to take it further.

"Hi Peri, hi Lauren." Opal noticed Peri and his girlfriend as she arrived home from work.
"Hello, Ms Moonstone! I'm not Lauren, I'm Aubrey."
Opal was embarrassed. Was she that unobservant as to not recognise Lauren?
"Oh, don't worry about it, Lauren is my twin sister. Everyone always gets us mixed up! We're used to  it."

"Peri, are you dating both of them? And they don't mind?"
"We think Peri is so cute! We don't mind sharing. Someday we'll make him choose. But not yet! Hehehe"
